Depth experiment

3D Particle Life Simulator

Step inside a true three dimensional particle world. Drag to orbit the habitat, use wheel or pinch to zoom, and adjust the same local rules that drive the 2D simulator.

How to explore depth

Read a living volume

The particles have x, y, and z positions. The canvas projects the bounded volume with perspective and depth sorting, while the selected rules create movement inside it. Camera orbit and zoom change the view without changing the world.

Orbit

Drag the camera

Drag across the canvas to change yaw and pitch. Wheel or pinch adjusts zoom. Reset view returns the camera to its starting angle and scale.

Observe

Depth is part of the state

Axes and bounds make the volume readable. The particle pattern evolves from its rules and seed rather than promising a fixed shape.

FAQ

3D simulator questions

Is this a true 3D simulation?

Yes. Particles have x, y, and z positions and move through a bounded three dimensional world. The canvas projects that world for viewing. Try the mobile simulator.

How do I orbit the 3D view?

Drag on the canvas to orbit. Use a mouse wheel or a two finger pinch to change the camera zoom, then use Reset view to return to the starting camera. Try the sandbox controls.

Can I change the particle rules?

Yes. The page exposes preset, count, motion, force, damping, radius, time step, repulsion zone, and family controls. Values stay within the ranges shown beside each control. Tune them in the sandbox.

Does the 3D view save a world?

No account or saved history is used. The Share configuration command creates a URL containing settings and a seed, not a saved live snapshot. Browse the preset library.
